Getting the Output Out Now That the Input Is In

This session will explore the relationship between developing fluency (free flowing language) and reducing the monitor (thinking about rules) and practical application to the classroom.

Content-Based Storytelling
Content-Based Storytelling (CBS) teaches cultural knowledge while staying in the target language (geography, history, biography, current events, legends, literature…).  CBS combines strategies from CI, TPRS, Content-Based Instruction, ELL, TPR, and Natural Approach. Put culture at the very heart of your curriculum at any grade, proficiency level or language.

From Master Plan to Monday Morning
Whether we’re adapting a textbook, working from a course of study, training for an AP exam or preparing for an upcoming novel, we all have to move from our master plan to our daily lessons.  We will explore methods for choosing structures, developing effective personalized questions, creating story scripts and planning engaging CI-based lessons.   Teachers will leave this session with practical ideas for specific classes and skills to continue creating outstanding lessons.
